I received a request from Mr. Leonard Muse, Director of Planning and Community Development to post a notice about an upcoming special meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Petersburg. A printed agenda has not been developed, but the special meeting has only the one matter of business; ZTA 2009-02, a zoning text [...] $1.2M (assessed value) landfill to be sold for $350K – is that true? Yesterday on the way to Lowes we were travelling down Wythe Street and a number of State Troopers went blazing by. As we went down Rt. 36 we noticed a couple of marked and unmarked cars along with Fire Department trucks at the landfill and wondered what was going on. I couldn’t help but wonder if some of the ’suits’ in the back of the room where possibly from the un-named potential buyer – some of them sorta had that ‘Sales Rep’ look going on.
